It was a shocker last week in Syracuse. Now the team moves down to Piscataway, New Jersey, to take on Rutgers, or as I call them “Rutgazzzz”. The big question is will Syracuse be able to pull off another win and celebrate at the Grease Trucks with a “Fat Bitch”, or will Syracuse take that long, lonely trip back to Syracuse with another loss?
Rutgers has been hot and mostly cold all season. They currently stand at 3-5 (2-2 in the Big East). This is not impressive. What is impressive is beating #17 Pittsburgh last weekend at Hines Field by a score of 54 to 34. Obviously the Rutgers team that played UNC is not the same team that showed up in Pittsburgh. While one will Syracuse see? Probably the one that beat Pitt last week, as they are now on a two game win streak, looking to make it three in a row. They do not have Ray Rice anymore, and Mike Teel has thrown eight picks, compared to only nine touchdowns. However, a lot of them came last weekend, so he's pretty hot right now. This team is beatable though. The question is also which Syracuse will show up. Sadly, I think home field advantage pushes this past tilt to favor Rutgers. I pick Rutgers by ten.
I’ll be watching the game on Saturday hoping that Syracuse can pass on Rutgers like UNC did. Will it happen? Again, if they use the momentum earned against Louisville last weekend, it is possible that that, combined with Curtis Brinkley’s running, could push the Orange to another win. Good luck to Rutgers and fellow Big East blogger Beat Visitor. Syracuse knows the pain of losing more than most, so no hard feelings whoever wins this one. Check out the game on ESPN U at 12:00pm Saturday. Also, Syracuse plays another fake basketball game Sunday. I will be in attendance in my 3rd Tier seat and will have a wrap up of both games on Sunday evening or early Monday.
