Robert Morris - Syracuse Preview

Syracuse students agree: In theory, this is another easy win.
Syracuse, fresh off the epic pressure of getting Jim Boeheim his 800th victory as a basketball coach, turns right around on a day’s rest to take on Robert Morris, a team that Syracuse beat in the post-season NIT Tournament in 2008. Syracuse will have bigger players and have more talent than Robert Morris, but Robert Morris will have shooters ready to get a marquee win early to start their year off. After all, they play in the NEC with the likes of Quinnipiac and Sacred Heart. Syracuse, meanwhile will probably be without guard Andy Rautins who rolled his ankle pretty badly on Monday against Albany and left the game. Syracuse will have to step up perimeter and mid-range shooting from James Southerland, Brandon Triche, and Wesley Johnson. Scoop Jardine will again be looked at to be a spark off the bench and add a solid 12 points to the effort again. If Syracuse exploits the weak inside game of Robert Morris, and limits outside shooting from this team, Syracuse should cruise to another nice victory and remain unbeaten on the season. Syracuse by 14.
