Syracuse - Pittsburgh Preview

Syracuse students agree: "The Pete" is hopefully still open.
This is a Big Game on Big Monday. Not B1G Monday anymore, but a Big Monday none the less. Syracuse will now face #4 Pittsburgh in the Petersen Event Center, a building that Syracuse first opened a few years ago by handing Pittsburgh their first loss there. Since then, they have only lost eight more games at home in that arena. This is, other than the Carrier Dome, the toughest place to play in the conference, especially with the Oakland Zoo right near the court. Pittsburgh implements a three guard look, with Sam Young and DeJuan Blair as the men down low, earning 18.4 and 14.3 points per game respectively. Blair is also pulling down 12.8rpg as well. Do not count out Levance Fields in the backcourt either. This will not be an easy game, but if the Syracuse team from Saturday shows up in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the city of Pittsburgh, then this will be a classic Big East game. Simply because this game is on the road I regretfully am picking against my beloved Orange, but keep in mind that I think on a neutral court this game could be a coin flip. I’m going with the Panthers by 12. Regretfully.

Look for both my Notre Dame and Pittsburgh postgame reactions tonight or early tomorrow.
