DePaul - Syracuse Preview

Syracuse students agree: Brian will act a fool in the Dome tonight.
This is not a hard preview to make. Syracuse is now 14-1(2-0) while DePaul is 8-7(0-2) losing to the likes of Morgan State, Northwestern, and Creighton. They average about 69 points a game, while Syracuse is averaging 81, and so far Syracuse has mostly proven that they can defend their home court in the Big East. They dismantled Seton Hall, who took Villanova to the wire and then overtime. Any mention of DePaul brings up bad memories of playing them in their home court and getting blown out in 2006, but this is not the team of 2006 and we are in the Carrier Dome. Their leading scorer, a robust forward named Dar Tucker (short for Darlene?) is averaging 19.6ppg, and 6.1rpb. He also shoots 32% from long range. However, even a bad shooting night for Syracuse should produce a win this time around. Syracuse over DePaul by 19.
I will be in the Dome tonight for a one night engagement coming out of retirement to rejoin my brethren in the Sour Sitrus Society pep band, so if you are able to watch this game look for me to be heckling the s#!t out of DePaul players and annoying Carrier Dome staff. Hopefully the team will deliver.

I've got a bad feeling about this one... DePaul reminds me of Cleveland State -- not much in the way of consistent shooting, but a bunch of strong athletic types who will make life hard on the boards and force a bunch of turnovers. All they need is one of their marginal shooters to get hot and it could be a tough night.
