There Used To Be Clocks Here

It was a good try, but Syracuse came up short.
Ahh what could have been. Syracuse actually had a good showing, but Syracuse ended up falling short to LSU. Syracuse did blow some changes to stay in this game. Great teams don't. Syracuse isn't there yet. But I can't knock the effort. Syracuse loses to LSU on the road, 35 to 26.
Offense

Eric Dungey (32/52, 265yds, 1 TD, 1 INT, 1 Rush TD), had a fine day. The INT happened early in the game and he recovered. The running game only got going a bit. But the real issue was DROPSIES, including a TD in the 2nd half, that might have changed the game. Syracuse can't have this. And it's unfamiliar territory as Syracuse really didn't have many drops last season. They have a bunch so far this year.
Defense
B
Considering Syracuse was talking on LSU, allowing 35 points was pretty good I would say. As a matter of fact, Syracuse's defense as a whole put on a decent show. LSU was only 7-13 on Third Downs. I'll take it.
Special Teams
A
Nothing to report really here. Cole Murphy was 3/3 on XP, and 1/1 on FG, drilling a 42 yarder. Solid work. No fatal errors.
Coaching
A
Syracuse was in this game. They had a game plan, and stuck to it. Syracuse players responded and played well. I'll take it, especially in looking at expectations versus LSU.
GPA
B+ (3.5)
It wasn't a win, and though there are no moral victories, this was a good effort and performance. I will take this kind of effort any day, and I think Syracuse earns a little respect back after botching Middle Tennessee.
Syracuse travels again to take on NC State this week. In another tough contest (they all are from here on out). At least this one is actually on TV (in most places) too.
