Look at that cute little guy.
While not overly impressive in and of itself, Syracuse's 13-0 win against Wake Forest was notable. It was a vast improvement over the brutal loss two weeks prior at the hands of Georgia Tech. But not Syracuse will again try and prove itself away from the Carrier Dome as they travel to face ACC opponent (for the last time) Maryland.
Maryland is a team that is more than capable of putting points on the board, but their strength is in the run now that two of their starting receivers have fell to injury. Lucky for Syracuse, their defensive strength is at stopping the run. This game is simple. If Syracuse manages to put some offensive drives together, they will win the game. If Maryland is able to frustrate Hunt and the other offensive players, Syracuse will be in for a long day, as the Maryland offense is in a beatable place. Syracuse will either win or beat themselves. But I called Syracuse winning this game at the beginning of the year, and I'll call this one an Orange win still. Syracuse over the Terps 24 to 17.
This game is again available regionally so check the stations it is on here. For those outside the TV viewing area, you can watch on Watch ESPN if not blacked out. It will be on live at 3:30pm today. I'll be in the home office, and John will be as well. He'll be back with a Wake Forrest report card this weekend, and I'll have the Maryland recap. And we'll get around to talking about that Cornell win soon as well.
