Minnesota Quick Predictions

Aww, how cute.
It is football time again. A new season is here, along with a new coach returning to take the job he has said is his dream. Will that translate to wins on the field? It will if he wants to keep his job, but it should anyway.

Minnesota is a team with its stock rising. Going from a one win season two years ago, to a seven win season last year, third year head coach Tim Brewster has this program poised to compete at the top level in the Big Ten Conference. Look for the Golden Gophers to establish their running game early and often. Once that happens, they will take it to the air to round out their balanced offensive attack. The key to preventing a roll by Minnesota is stopping the run at the point of attack. This job will rest on Art Jones’ ability to make tackles and stop holes the size of the grand canyon. If Syracuse can limit the run, the percentage that Syracuse will end up victorious will greatly increase. The Dome will be full of at least 42,000 people, screaming and hoping for a team that looks like it can at least compete on the football field. Because of the atmosphere, as well as a new offense that none of the Minnesota coaches have seen, I’m picking the home team to win. Syracuse over Minnesota 24 to 21.

I’m now a season ticket holder (yes it is weird for me to say as well) so I’ll be in the Carrier Dome hopefully enjoying the start of the future of SU Football. I’ll hopefully be tweeting on Twitter, in which you can follow me here. If I can’t find internet, tune into Orange::44 Correspondent John Brennan’s Twitter feed here. Also, good stuff going on during the game at Nunes/Magician. Stop by Section 215 and say hello. Hopefully we can all enjoy a good game, win or lose, and as always GO ORANGE!
