There Used To Be Clocks Here

The 2022 Orange::44 NCAA Tournament Bracket Bonanza!

I will still watch an awful lot of basketball this month.

It's that time of year again. And while Syracuse will be watching from home, the love of college basketball permeates everything in the month of March. As per tradition, both JBren and I have posted our brackets (yes, our ONE bracket each) for all to ridicule or exhault. We each have a different champ again this year. John is going with Baylor (who I correctly picked last year), while I'm taking Arizona. May the best and drunkest man win.

The 2021 Orange::44 NCAA Tournament Bracket Bonanza!

Let's see how many we can get wrong this time!
Since this went so swimmingly with the ACC Tournament (and COVID forfeits), JBren and I are back. This time with the NCAA Tournament. Syracuse a solid 11 seed in the "Midwest" first takes on SDSU. John has them going a little farther than I do, but that's par for the course. Meanwhile we each have a different champ. See who will cut down the nets, and see who is replaced by Louisville (if anyone). Good luck out there, enjoy the games, and GO ORANGE!

The 2021 Orange::44 ACC Tournament Bracket Extravaganza!

It's time for brackets again!

Syracuse starts the ACC Tournament on Wednesday. But tomorrow the tournament in Greensboro (gross!) gets going. So John and I got to filling out some brackets. John is more optimistic than me about the ultimate fate of Syracuse, but we both have a team from the Commonwealth of Virginia hoisting the trophy. We both call the first round the same, then we diverge wildly. Who's right? We'll find out right after this. For the record I'm hoping John is more right. But we could both end up jackasses. We'll see. GO ORANGE and enjoy! Just try not to be overrated this week.

Orange::44 Bracket Extravaganza 2019!

 Syracuse is in the Tournament again.
It's Tournament time again. So both John and I have filled out our brackets (yes, only one sheet). John is picking Virginia to finally get the monkey off Tony Bennett's back, while I've got Dang Gum Roy winning another title over K. We're probably both horribly wrong, so who knows! Full disclosure, John filled out his bracket before the Frank Howard news. I did not. Enjoy!

2018 NCAA Lacrosse Championship Brackets

Time for May Madness!
It's May, which means Syracuse is playing for a National Championship. Syracuse squeaked in as the last seeded team, earning the 8th spot and a home game with Cornell. Both John and I filled out brackets, so you can enjoy them here. We actually have the exact same brackets except I have Loyola beating Virginia and advancing to the Final Four, while John has Virginia making it to Foxboro. Enjoy and we hope to see you in Massachusetts on Memorial Day!

Orange::44 Bracket Extravaganza 2018!

 Syracuse is in. We're pretty happy about it.
All is right with the world. Syracuse is in the NCAA Tournament, UConn and Georgetown aren't, and Gottlieb is butthurt that SU is dancing. Yup, a pretty good weekend here at Orange::44. As per tradition, both Orange::44 Correspondent John Brennan and I post our brackets, filled out with good old pen and paper, and digitized for your mass consumption. For the record, both John and I have Syracuse winning their play in game versus Arizona State, and beating the TCU team helmed by former Pittsburgh Coach Jamie Dixon. Bet they wish they had him back. Anyway, we also have Syracuse ending in the Round of 32, being defeated finally by Michigan State. They better not lose to Bucknell, because otherwise Syracuse is going to have even more apologizing to America again. My bracket is up top. John's is below. John also did a fun "Revenge" bracket, which is all the way at the bottom. Obviously the play in picks don't matter, except the Syracuse one. Enjoy the games and GO ORANGE!

Orange::44 Bracket Extravaganza 2016!

 The NCAA Tournament is back. So are the Orange.
It's the annual tradition of us here at Orange::44 posting our brackets for the worlds to see and rip apart. Both John and I subscribe to the "Sheet of Integrity" method of bracket pooling. That is, we make 1 sheet and that's it. None of this 4 or 5 sheets with changes for each one. If you think you're that good, you should make one sheet and that's that. And that's what we do here. So click the picture above for my bracket. John's bracket is right below. And for fun, John flipped a coin on each game and that one is below. So if you really want to know who's going to win, you should probably check that last one. Enjoy and happy basketball!

Orange::44 Bracket Extravaganza 2015!

Another year, another edition of the best sports tournament in America.
It's the time again where we here at Orange::44 post our brackets for the world to see, judge, or tear apart. Both John and I only fill out one bracket a year and these are it for this year. Coincidentally and independently, both John and I have Kentucky over Duke for the National Championship with the score being 78-74. Insanity. How did that happen? We're good friends but not THAT good. Either way, you can enjoy my bracket above (with brief commentar), and John's below. Click to enlarge of course.

Orange::44 Bracket Extravaganza 2014!

 It's the most wonderful time of the year.
It's that time again when the staff here at Orange::44 post our brackets for the world to see, and subsequently learn how not to pick a bracket. The above bracket is mine. Below is John's. His scanner broke. Sorry. Enjoy that to satisfy your own curiosity. Click on the brackets to enlarge.

2013 NCAA Lacrosse Bracket Picks

Who will play on Memorial Day? We think a match-up you've already seen once or twice.

Last Sunday night was the NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse selection show. It's probably not as exciting or well viewed as the basketball selection show each March to usher in March Madness, but as lacrosse continues to grow as a sport, this selection show and this tournament is getting more attention. The lacrosse tournament consists of 16 teams, with the top eight being seeded 1-8 and hosting first-round games on campus against one of the unseeded teams. Therefore, you don't see a 1-16, 2-15, etc., as geography typically plays into the match-ups. Syracuse earned the #1 seed, and will host the Bryant Bulldogs in the Carrier Dome on Sunday at 7:30pm. The winner then moves onto the quarterfinals in College Park, Maryland on May 18. The other quarterfinal site is Indianapolis, Indiana. The Final Four and Championship, over the Saturday and Monday of Memorial Day weekend, will be hosted in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, at Lincoln Financial Field.

As we are wont to do here at Orange::44, Brian and I have filled out our brackets with winners of each game, up through choosing an eventual National Champion. They look pretty similar, and have a bit of homerism, but we both think they're pretty solid brackets.

Here is Brian's bracket:

And here's my bracket:
Feel free to harass us on twitter or in the comments section here if you disagree.

I'll be attending the Syracuse/Bryant game in the Dome on Sunday night, so look for a recap here on Monday. And if things fall the Orange's way in the first two games, Brian and I will be in Philadelphia for the Championships, so keep it here for continued coverage of the Orange Road to the Final Four, and keep checking out CollegeCrosse.com for your latest updates on the entire tournament.
